Very good books these, with emphasis on the kind of action and adventure you see in the SEALS US TV series and things like the UK Strike Back hit TV series. When I read these I thought Back to the books of my youth I used to read. You'd probably call those US pulp fiction action-adventure classics today. They were like these books here today, full to overflowing with action and adventure, excitement and daring-do. From Mack Bolan's Able Team to the Phoenix Force style. Old-school type hero novels about the professionals at the Sharp End of the War on Terror, which has never ended and still goes on today.
This was an explosive story with Steve and his team going to work for a security firm. They were to retrieve an asset and then use his knowledge to retrieve a WWII super weapon. The trouble was that the asset was being held prisoner. Steve and his team were up against Viktor Readle and his team of assassins. This is a seriously high-octane read that sees a lot of action that has been superbly written and incredibly well plotted by the author. The story riveted me and couldn’t put the book down, intrigued to see how it panned out. The characters were intriguing and mainly from a military background. They seemed very realistic, just like the action in the story. The strategic planning for retrieving the asset was well-defined and sounded very thorough and precise, using maps, comms, and more. The author has experience of being part of the Royal Green Jackets where he served ten years in the British Army and he uses that as an inspiration for his writing. There is a lot of realism throughout the story, and I really enjoyed reading it. There was a lot going on; it was intriguing, and there was a lot of action with Steve’s team fighting the enemy and trying not to get killed. I would like to read more of this series in the future.
A new to me series and this is book 6, I didn’t feel lost, but I am desperate to read the other books now, as this was a non-stop action read.
A chunky book, but I flew through it without realising it, longer chapters but so hard to put down.
Steve and his team run headfirst into danger in this book. My goodness, it’s a great read, a thriller with a military theme, but a thrilling thriller 😀 I was hooked from the start of this book. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting an adventure full of suspense, danger and action.
I’m off to buy Book 1 now to carry on my own adventure with the team

Not a book reader myself but I read this as I know the author and I am so glad I did , 1st thing I want to say is when’s the next instalment I’m hooked, it’s got everything I expect from a blockbuster film if you’re looking for a military grade story with lots of twists and turns look no further , it’s an easy to read story and keeps you wanting to turn the page . I got so into it that I was saying I will put it down after this page but you can’t because you have to know what happens next lol

Steve the author has drawn on his military service with the British Green Jackets around the world and his intensive cruising experiences to captivate the reader with first class research and to deliver a fast paced entertaining thriller that takes you from your armchair to the islands of the Caribbean.
We are taken on a mission that is not all that it seems to be as the reader is taken on a helter skelter journey that needs precise planning and coordination to fulfill the mission.
Steve seems to really draw on his many life experiences that emanate from his well thought out characters that portray many facets of his own persona including his battle with PTSD and its continuing effect it has on his current life giving the reader an insight into problems associated with combat stress.
In all a very entertaining book and I would highly recommend it if you like fast paced thrillers with the unusual twist at the end.
